Dr. Islam will be serving as a General Co-Chair of the IEEE International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium (IPDPS), together with Dr. Manish Parashar. The conference, which is one of the premier conferences in parallel and distributed computing will be held June 1-5, 2027 in Seattle, Washington.

The Call for Papers is out now, with a scope spanning parallel and distributed computing, HPC, and several rapidly emerging areas, including:
• AI/ML and Agentic AI
• Quantum Computing
• AI Accelerators and Emerging Architectures
• Neuromorphic and Bio-inspired Computing
• Energy-efficient / Green HPC
• Cloud, Edge, and Distributed Systems
• Compilers, Programming Models, and Runtime Systems
• Performance Measurement, Modeling, and Experimentation
• Open-source tools and datasets

IPDPS is specifically looking for work that crosses traditional boundaries and brings new ideas and communities to the organization.
