The Department of Computer Science at Texas State University is excited about the direction in which the department is headed as well as its many recent accomplishments. The department continues to be the hub of computing related education and research activities on the campus.
Research
The department has over 20 tenured and tenure-track faculty members with research in artificial intelligence, computer systems and engineering, artificial intelligence, data science and engineering, high-performance computing, human-centered computing, networks, security, and cyber-physical systems. Faculty research has been supported by federal and state agencies and industry such as NSF, NIST, DoD, DoE, ED, DHS, DHHS, PNNL, LLNL, TxDOT, THECB, Semiconductor Research Consortium, Google, Meta, AMD, IBM, Intel, Cisco, NVIDIA, and Emerson. The faculty also engages other academic units on campus and local industry in a variety of research collaborations.
Research Awards
The computer science faculty has received many competitive, sought-after research awards, including the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), NSF CAREER awards, DOE Early Career Award, IBM Faculty Fellowship Award, Google Faculty Research Award, and Facebook Faculty Research Award.
