CS Internship Courses – CS 4100, CS 5100, CS 7100

It is the student’s responsibility to contact an employer to find an internship. The Career Services Department hosts a page with internship opportunities:  Career Services Internship Page
Students must complete the enrollment process at least one week before the first day of class.

Internship Enrollment Process

  1. Submit Your Internship Offer Letter
Students must submit their internship offer letter, printed on the employer's official company letterhead, and provide their student A-Number to the CS Department Administrative Assistant.
  2. Course Enrollment
The Administrative Assistant will process the necessary enrollment override for the Internship course. Once the override has been completed, students will be notified and may return to CatsWeb to register for the course.
  3. International Students (CPT Request)
After enrolling in the internship course, international students must submit a CPT request through the TXST International Student Portal. On the CPT request form, list Dr. Hongchi Shi, Department Chair, as your Advisor. Dr. Shi will review your request and determine whether it can be approved or if a meeting with you is required before approval. Once your CPT request is approved, you will receive notification from the ISSS Office.
  4. Course Progress Requirements
All students enrolled in the internship course are required to submit a midterm report and a final report during the internship.
